From the Skies to the Creamery

In 1994, my family and I moved to the United States and settled in the state of Oklahoma, where we bought a farm to raise cattle. Life in the countryside has always been part of our story and our values. Our family has strong European roots: in Brazil, my great-grandparents came from Italy and Portugal. In my wife’s family, her mother came from former Czechoslovakia and her father from former Yugoslavia, both also immigrating to Brazil. These origins brought traditions that have crossed generations, especially when it comes to food.

Taking Passion to New Heights

As a professional pilot, I had the opportunity to travel for many years across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In the early 2010s, I began traveling frequently to France — a country widely recognized for the excellence of its dairy products.

It was in France that I developed a deeper appreciation for high-quality yogurt and decided to truly learn the craft. For about five years, I researched, built friendships, and visited small artisanal producers as well as more established facilities, always seeking authentic traditional knowledge.

One encounter especially marked this journey: a small yogurt producer in southern France who welcomed me into his home — owned by his family since 1752 — where he makes small batches of yogurt every day, sold in nearby villages. From him, I learned deeply rooted techniques passed down through generations, which we apply directly in our products today.

At first, we made yogurt only for our family. But because it was extremely flavorful and 100% natural, friends and neighbors began asking us to make it for them as well. Demand grew, and we realized that this dream could become something bigger.

The World Best Yogurt

That is how Amélia was born.

In 2017, we built a small, state-of-the-art facility to bring our yogurt to market. The success was immediate and has brought us to where we are today — always with the same commitment: to produce with respect for tradition, artisanal methods, and the quality we believe in.

Amélia is not just a brand. It is the continuation of our story, our roots, and our passion for making real food the way it has always been made.
